Seven months have passed since Barnaby, the Undead patriarch, tumbled to his death. The Human-Undead War appears to be over.

 However, Barnaby is alive and well. He’s amassed an army of Vampirons—humans with fake fangs who’ve hidden in Australia—and has convinced them to travel to the United States, where the Undead Army remains in spite of a peace treaty. He plans to reignite the war, continue his evil plot to plunge Earth into everlasting darkness, and reclaim his patriarchal throne.

 Brian Koltz now governs Haven, which has become the first bi-species establishment. But while he assumes his role as the presumed Undead patriarch, he learns hatred lurks in every corner. To combat his own festering disdain, he delves into the world of magic and uncovers information which sets him on a course to prevent future tyrants like Barnaby.

 And as their paths intertwine anew, the true Undead patriarch is forced to reveal his identity…and the secrets he’s harbored since the dawn of time.
