Stench Clings

Sunlight hammers exposed
Bloating corpses.
Blue-green meat,
Putrid, thick
With scents of
Roadkill,
Disease.

Stark-white bones
Protrude
Through soggy,
Hairy skin,
Covered in
Pink slime,
Squirming maggots.
 

Maggots munch and slither,
Carnivorous whores
Tunneling,
Burrowing,
Cleansing.
Frothing juices
Bubble and dribble.
 

Death clings
To nostril hair,
Vomit-inducing,
Seeping
Into clothing,
Hair, and skin,
And memories
Haunt forever.
