Spooktacular Classic: Moon (Leave Me Be)

Spooktacular Classics are dried-up chunks of word vomit which I like to regurgitate every time a Halloween Spooktacular event rolls onto the Interwebs scene.

You’ve been warned.

Moon (Leave Me Be)

Moon, oh Moon, leave me be!
Your light stole all away from me!
Two star-crossed lovers entranced, in woe.
So you cursed me not long ago.
Gods have never known such passion so pure.
Moon, leave me be!  Offer a cure!
This ragged body is broken and torn.
You cannot replace this heart you scorn.
You curse me with fangs and hirsute skin.
You curse me, and I curse you within.
Your light makes me howl excruciatingly.
Inside this body is where you should be.
Inside this body, my blood is ice.
To leave me in cold death would suffice.
Now I am animal, not the man, not me.
Moon, oh Moon, just leave me be!

Say somethin'!
