NOVEL UPDATE: Why I’m NOT Getting Published

I got quite the blow to my man-nuggets yesterday…

Grin and bear THIS, motherfucker!

Grin and bear THIS, motherfucker!

…and I’m sorry to inform everyone my first book will not be dropping in May. In fact, none of my books are on a publishing contract anymore.

My former publisher is restructuring their business model and exercised their rights—per the contract—to not publish my work.

Many might expect me to be angry and spew hateful words, but that’s just not my nature. This publisher did what they had to do. I hold no animosity toward them. Why would I? I’m walking away fee-free with two completed novels (one of which was professionally edited) and a third in the works. My online presence is growing. My marketing knowledge has expanded tenfold. My network ebbs outward daily. My writing itself has even benefited from this experience.

If nothing else, I’m in a much better position than I was when I signed the contract, and I’m eternally grateful for all the lessons learned.

Now, with all rights reverted back to me, it’s time to seek out fresh markets again. Businesses may change, but my dream hasn’t.

Join me for the ride and stay tuned. There’s more randomosity coming soon.

  1. It’s rough, and I have hated to watch so many authors suffer through uncertainty and disappointment. It sounds like you’ve got the right attitude to succeed. Best of luck.
